1 Curriculum Vitae
Attach a Curriculum Vitae detailing all qualifications, relevant employment experience and any screen production credits and experience.
2 Career Statement
Upload a 1-2 page statement detailing your reasons for undertaking the course and outlining your career aspirations and potential to be a filmmaker.
The Master of Film and Television encourages applications from creatives interested in advancing their skills in different types of cinematic storytelling and encourages applications from both fiction and documentary filmmakers. We are interested in hearing about what kinds of filmmaking interest you, any specific filmmaking approaches or genres you intend to explore in the course and beyond, and why you believe you are a good candidate for the course.
3 Pitch your ideas
Briefly outline two ideas for short productions you envisage making if offered a place in the course (up to 200 words each). Your answer will not be assessed as part of your Selection Test, however, you may be asked to discuss your ideas in detail if shortlisted for an interview.
4 Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.

TEST PART 1 of 2 - SHORT STORY
The written test assesses your ability to create an original, engaging story to be developed into a screenplay. We are looking for stories that, although written in prose, are imagined with the screen in mind, and therefore driven by action and/or dynamic visual ideas. Your characters/participants will be described through visual and audio elements, not silent inner feelings and thoughts. Let the visual landscape and/or action describe psychology. You can determine the style of the story be it comic, naturalistic, dramatic or documentary. You may include dialogue but bear in mind film is a visual medium that benefits from action.
Choose one prompt for the list below. Based on your chosen prompt, write an original story in prose form that could be developed into a screenplay for a 5- 10-minute short film. (Max length 2 pages).

SELECTION TEST PART 2 of 2 - VISUAL SEQUENCE
The visual sequence assesses your ability to tell a story suitable for a five-minute production through an original and effective visual sequence of images.
Create a sequence of nine images that convey's a developing story. The meaning should be self-evident and not need a written explanation.
The images can be original photographs taken by yourself, hand drawings, or digital sketches.
It is recommended that stock images are not used.
