“ One of the key factors that drew me to SOM was that its MBA curriculum offers both the structure and flexibility that I'm looking for. The core provides exposure to several areas of business, allowing me to build the broad foundation that I need in order to achieve my goals. At the same time, I'm also able to take classes across all of Yale's schools, which is especially exciting to me since Yale has one of the best art programs in the world. My dream is to start my own firm that helps mission-driven startups scale using design and strategy. While I have the design piece from my undergrad and previous work experience, Yale will help me better understand the business and strategy component. 02“ We're going to need to feed 11 billion people by the end of the century. Changing climates, increasing pest burdens, and difficult unit economics make this huge challenge even more difficult. “ I was drawn to SOM's emphasis on imparting a variety of perspectives. Most formally, this is in the form of an Integrated Core Curriculum in the first year that teaches about business organizations from the point of view of their stakeholders (e.g., customer, investor) vs. traditional business disciplines (e.g., finance, marketing). More generally, this variety of perspectives comes from interactions with a global and diverse peer group. As someone who has mostly worked in engineering roles, it is very important for me to get this exposure.
