UCL本科预科笔试细节

申请UCL的预科时除了80%的成绩以及雅思成绩之外（划重点！UKVI一定要！），笔试和面试是更加具有筛选性的环节。每年的3月份左右，UCL会来到中国在主要城市举办大型的笔试筛选，想要帮助报名的同学们请私信小编。笔试环节中分为人文类的笔试及理工类的笔试俩大类，人文方向主要考Critical Thinking及数学（申请的科目里面有数学module的话）；理工科方向要在生物，化学，数学，物理四个科目中选2科进行测试。
学好数理化，走遍天下都不怕！这句话影响了世世代代的中国朋友们，所以数理化方向的笔试我们没在怕的~但是Critical Thinking, 批判性思考，我们平常中了解和接触的就很少了，那这块需要怎么准备呢？官方解答来了！
- A good way to prepare is to become familiar with the following terms: theme, conclusion, paradox, inference, premise, argument,counter-argument, fallacy, generalisation, and paraphrase. Check what these mean in a dictionary and look up examples online.
批判性思考中会用到，主题，结论，悖论，推论，假设，论证，反论证，谬论，归纳，演绎等等专业的思考方式，要不仅明白这些名词的意思，更要熟练知道每个名词对应怎样的逻辑推论或者思考过程。
2.One of the best ways to prepare would be to read challenging English as frequently as possible. You should follow international news in a wide variety of issues: ethical, political, environmental, artistic, etc. and favour articles written by a named expert or writer commenting on a piece ofnews over factual or content-based articles.
多读，广读，泛读，这个是最基础的，也是最耗费时间的进步方式。你需要去更广泛的阅读政治，环境，艺术，伦理道德类的文章。（这个对雅思阅读的提高和写作的提高也很友好哦）
3.When you read, read actively! You could try to identify important words and concepts. If you think you know what they mean, test yourself:imagine a friend does not understand an idea or a concept, how would you explain it to him/her? Check in a dictionary. Also, when you read or watch thenews, try to be active, to engage with the material: what do you think? Why?Make notes
除了泛读之外，精读也是非常非常重要的，你需要从文章中发展出你自己的想法和观点，这个才是最重要的。
4.You could also engage in debates and discussions in English with friends and teachers whenever you have a chance. Join a debate club if this ispossible. In general you should train yourself in finding reasons and arguments to support your opinions. For instance if you believe a government is right in making a decision, you should be able to explain why you think this decision is good.Try to avoid personal examples – e.g. referring to your family and friends –and anecdotes.
泛读，精读之后，便是更加重要的使用环节！去参加辩论，去更加灵活的锻炼你的思想，在辩论中把你之前阅读的内容作为根据，以加深你的记忆，灵活你的使用。
5.During the test you should read the text very carefully and at least several times before you read the questions. Then you should read each questioncarefully to make sure that you have understood it and that you know whatexactly is asked from you: how many arguments or examples do you need topresent, must you refer to the passage and quote it or on the contrary write ananswer using your own arguments and examples? It can be stressful not to find the right answer immediately. If this happens, then it is better to skip this part of the test, answer the other questions and come back to it if you have time.
在考试的过程中，一定要读懂题！批判性思考不是简单的对错题，你要明白你需要提出几个论点，你是需要引用文章中的论点还是形成自己的？
- You can also try the sample test available online; this will allow you to become more familiar with the format of the test and typical questions that can be asked.
最后一点，也是最重要的一点！多做样题，确保你了解整体的试题结构。
